"In a statement to ANF about the air assault of the Turkish army which has killed at least 36 civilians on 28 December night, HPG (People’s Defense Forces) Command Member Bahoz Erdal contradicted the statement released by the Turkish General Staff.
Bahoz Erdal said that “There is a distance of at least 10 km between the real scene of the slaughter and the alleged Sinaht area of Haftanin. The slaughter was carried out in the border region of Serê Sas close to the Roboskî village.”
Remarking the impossibility of allegations which say that guerrilla camps were deployed in the area of the scene, Bahoz Erdal said that guerrillas would never perform an act or activity in this area which civilians and villagers always use as their passageway.
HPG Command Member defended that the slaughter was an organized and planned act rather than an accident or an involuntary action. Erdal also pointed out that it was not possible for the military and administrative authorities to be unaware of civilians who dealt with border trade. Erdal added that “Furthermore, unmanned air vehicles performed reconnaissance activities in the area on 28 December, between the hours of 17.00 and 21.30 when the slaughter was carried out by warplanes. There's not a scintilla of truth in the allegation that the civilians, who move unarmed on mules in this route every day, were mistaken for guerrillas."
"A demonstration in Diyarbakir organized to protest against the massacre carried out by Turkish warplanes in the province of Sirnak (village of Roboski) on Wednesday night has been heavily attached by police.
At least 10 thousand people took to the street in the main Kurdish city to protest at the latest massacre which claimed the life of 35 people, many very young.
Police attacked the crowd and BDP city co-chair Zübeyde Zümrüt has been wounded along many other people.
Police threw tear gas trying to disperse the crowd.
A demonstration in Yüksekova also was attacked by police. Thousands gather to protest against the massacre in Uludere and were met by police violence."
